SYNOPSIS:
“What does it mean to live on the water?” With this question, filmmaker Tamino Parren examines in 7 episodes why people choose to live like this. A series of six portraits of completely different people, each with an exceptional way of living on the water. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a houseboat? And what does it mean if you have an iron houseboat? With the water-rich Weerribben-Wieden National Park in the province of Overijssel in The Netherlands as a setting for the series, each episode reveals an intimate glimpse into the lives of these water inhabitants. Do people on the water consciously separate themselves from the common forms of housing? Or is it a close-knit community? And what is the appeal of the water?
